Sunday Service – Jan 24

Good Morning People of St. John’s!
Hope you’ve had a great week and are warm and comfy at home.

Today’s service will be available at 6am on Sunday here:
https://youtu.be/46we44-qLnE
As usual, the readings are attached and the words are in the video.
Now, on to some important news. We have delayed Vestry by 1 month to work out exactly how we can reach everyone and in the hope the lock down will be over, Because of COVID, we hope to have an Hybrid Vestry with those that can join us in person and others at home joining by either computer or phone on Zoom. Vestry reports will be mailed out after our next Warden’s meeting, February 9th. At that time we will also release the list of voting members of Vestry. Please make sure that if you think you should be on it, you are. Anyone who attended (watched) at least 3 services and donated at least 5 dollars to the church is allowed to vote assuming they vote at only one parish’s Vestry. A reminder to those in leadership, that Vestry reports need to be in in the next few days for us to get them printed and mailed out on time.

Have a great week, keep safe and don’t forget to pray for each other.

May God Bless you all!

Sunday Service – Jan 10

Hi everyone.
We hope you’ve had a wonderful and safe week.
Today’s service uses the pg 185 service from the BAS which is available on the resources page of the anglican church website anglican.ca, if you don’t already have it.
The announcements and readings are attached below and the service is available on YouTube here:
https://youtu.be/yLDUmmBCNmY
Remember, if there is anything you need or if you just need someone to talk to during this lockdown, we are here to help in any way we can. Just let us know.
Since we’re all locked up, why not spend some of that time reading scripture and in prayer. If you don’t have access to a bible, let us know, we’ll get you one.

A reminder that Vestry is coming soon. It’s scheduled for the first Sunday in February, February 7th. We’ll let you know details as soon as we are able. Ministry leaders, please start working on your reports. They will be due two weeks before Vestry so we can get them out before vestry.

Have a great week and see you soon…we hope.
God bless.

Sunday Service – Dec. 27

Hi everyone
First a reminder that for the next four weeks there will be no live service due to the Covid lockdown. Also, this is the last Sunday of the year so if you wish to top up your charitable donations for the year with a donation to the church, you can mail one before Friday, contact the church or wardens before Friday or use our new email transfer by sending money to                 stjohnwhitby@toronto.anglican.ca
with your receipting information in the comments section.

Today’s service is a little different. The diocese has informed us that we must wear masks even when recording a service if there is more than one person in the room. With that in mind, each person involved recorded their part separately. alone in the church. The parts were then merged into one service. We also added the words to the hymns for you to sing along with. We may make more changes to make it easier to watch as time goes on. Please let us know how it works.

The service is available after 8am on Youtube here: https://youtu.be/afi2sDlvW9Q
The readings and announcements are attached.
Hope you enjoy the service.Remember, if you need anything during this lockdown, we are here to help. Give us a call.
God bless.
