Our doors are open
St. John’s Anglican joined landmark buildings, new and old, for Open Doors Whitby on Oct. 18. Guided by members of the congregation, folks walked through the historic church and learned about the people and the practices which has made St. John’s a blessing for so many during the past 180 years.
Our 2025 Doors Open event was a heartwarming testament to the spirit of our community, as over 75 guests came to visit, eager to explore the fellowship we nurture at St John’s.
Together, we shared stories, laughter, and insightful conversations that brought our values of belonging, believing, and becoming to life. This vibrant gathering highlighted the beauty of connection, showcasing how our church is not just a place of worship but a true sanctuary where friendships blossom and faith is deepened.
We are excited to see what new friendships and collaborations will emerge from this wonderful experience and invite you to be a part of our journey as we continue to grow together in love and community.

Highlights of our 2025 Bazaar
It was four hours of seasonal magic as the St. John’s community gathered to host our annual seasonal bazaar om Nov. 8. Long considered (humbly) the best lunch deal in town, it drew friends old and new for a delightful time of fellowship – not to mention a tremendous table of bake good and crafts supplied by our Monday morning craft group (10 am Mondays if you are interested in joining.)
The St John’s bazaar is a wonderful way to enjoy a Saturday in November. Every year, residents from Port Whitby and the surrounding areas come together for a delightful lunch, to purchase homemade baked goods, and to browse crafts created throughout the year by the church craft group. This cherished Whitby tradition offers a chance to reconnect with old friends and make new ones, making it an event that should be marked on your calendar as soon as the date is announced.
A place to belong, to believe, to become.
