Reaching Out: Embracing Local Community

The Outreach Team invites us all to participate in an Advent project to collect funds for Project Smile, an organization that aids children in third-world countries, with surgery and follow-up, for cleft lip and/or palate. If each of us could give up 1 or 2 Tim’s coffees each week until Christmas, we could easily accumulate $240, enough to cover surgery & follow-up for one child. Please contact Janet Stephenson at stjohnsanglicanwhitby@gmail.com  for more information.

Here at St John’s, we believe in the power of community. Reaching out to those in need is not just a responsibility, it is a privilege. Together, we can make a significant difference. One of our core values is helping wherever we can, whether that means organizing events, supporting local initiatives, or simply being there for one another in times of need.

Join Us for Our Food Drive

Each year, we gather food donations to help families struggling to put meals on their tables. Whether it’s canned goods, dry staples, or non-perishables, every contribution counts. No amount is too small; every can adds up and brings us closer to supporting our neighbors.

Clothing Donations: Share the Warmth

In addition to our food drive, we also organize a clothing donation event. We encourage our congregation and the larger community to donate gently used or new clothing. With chilly months approaching, warm clothes can be a lifesaver for those who are less fortunate. Your compassionate act will not only help someone stay warm but also show them that they are cared for.

Together, we can show our united spirit and extend a hand to those in need. We invite everyone to participate in these initiatives and help us strengthen the bonds of our community. Let’s come together to make a positive impact!
